The JAPAN DRUGSTORE SHOW is far more than just a trade show for drugstores. With nearly 500 participating companies and close to 100,000 visitors every year, it is one of Japan’s largest events dedicated to health, beauty, medicine, cosmetics, supplements, and everyday products.
I had a great time exploring the show myself as a fun, hands-on experience and discovering just how much you can find in Japanese drugstores.
There were also lots of free samples and products to try, which made the experience even more fun! I ended up taking home some rather unexpected goodies — a medicinal alcoholic drink, dog food toppings, and even dog chewing gum! 😂
From OTC medicines and cosmetics to supplements, health foods, and everyday essentials, it was a fantastic opportunity to experience the latest trends in Japan’s drugstore culture—all in one place.
For visitors from overseas, I think it’s a particularly fun way to discover what Japanese people actually buy at drugstores and why Japanese drugstores are so popular.
